2013’s been a progressive, transitional and content packed year here at Blatantly Blunt HQ in North London – the recent highlights being our regular slot on legendary hip hop station Itch FM (formerly pirate radio, now internet) and recently we reached our 6th birthday.
Watch out for the new 3.0 website and loads more types of content covering a range of types of art. If you’re interested in becoming a regular writer, videographer or have any other business ideas for us, including advertising with us get in touch!
It’s been a ‘create and build’ type of year – posting tons of content whilst preparing a new look website and creating a ton of youtube content, including a series called ‘Bars on Guitars’ featuring some solid names in UK hip hop.
We have a roster of DJs and MCs across hip hop, grime and more, entitled ‘Blatantly Booked’ who you can book for your show, endorsements, artist feature or interview www.blatantlyblunt.com/artists.
This year has been great for the breadth of interviews we’ve done, with artists from USA and UK, small and established, hip hop and grime and we were lucky enough to speak with UK soul legend Omar.

We’ve also dropped 12 videos on Blatantly Blunt TV, with plenty of more footage waiting to be uploaded to our new channel so we will update you as an when there are developments!
Orifice Vulgatron from the ever evolving Foreign Beggars dropped this shoutout just before their show at Jazz Cafe Camden for the 10th anniversary show of their classic ‘Asylum Speakers’ album.
We also were involved in a few events this year – in April we put on a free entry show for the first London leg of Genesis Elijah’s UK tour, at the Silver Bullet in Finsbury Park. Check the footage below!
In July we did a collaborative event with Love Dough London as we brought Ten Dixon, Marger, Jamkay, Jon e Clayface, Pawz alongside DJ Lue’b and DJ LZ as we took over room 2 on the night which also featured Big Narstie, JME and more.
Since August this year I’ve hosted a weekly specialist grime show show on London based station Itch FM, which made a welcome re-emergence into the hip hop scene, following a successful crowd funding campaign. Hosted by myself Nick B Blunt alongside DJs Lue’b and Cartoon Physics we cover new and classic instrumentals and vocals and have had guests such as Shoadow, Rascals, Ten Dixon & Jon e Clayface, Doller and more.
